Frequently Asked Questions

A porch is a covered shelter projecting from a building's entrance, often larger and equipped for outdoor seating. A stoop is smaller, usually consisting of steps and a platform leading to the door, often uncovered or minimally covered.

A stoop should generally be 36 to 48 inches deep to provide sufficient space for safe and comfortable entry or exit. This size accommodates the door swing and allows for easy maneuvering. Always check local building codes for specific requirements.

Standard stoop sizes vary, but typically feature a depth of 3-5 feet and a width matching the door, often around 6-8 feet. Heights are generally 18 inches or less to meet building codes and ensure accessibility. Always verify with local codes and regulations.

Stoops can be built in various styles, including concrete, wood, brick, and stone. Designs range from simple, functional structures to elaborate, decorative entryways, often featuring railings, steps, and landings. Styles can be adapted to match architectural aesthetics and personal preferences.

After the job started, we decided to add our side steps along the side of our house. Their team was professional and courteous to work with. After each day of work, John and Miles touched base with us to see if we were happy with the progress. After the job was complete, we decided to have All Paving & Masonary LI to change oue existing retaining wall garden on the other side of our house to match the new pavers and retaing wall that was just completed.
