Frequently Asked Questions

A porch is a larger, covered outdoor area attached to a building, often with space for seating. A stoop is smaller, typically just a set of steps with a platform leading to a door, lacking significant space for furnishings or activities.

A stoop should ideally be at least 36 inches deep to provide enough space for safe and comfortable entry and exit, while allowing for a small seating area if desired.

Standard stoop sizes vary, but typically range from 3 to 5 feet deep and 5 to 10 feet wide. The height aligns with the entryway, usually about 7 inches per step. Always check local building codes for specific requirements.

Stoops can be built using various materials and designs, including concrete, brick, stone, wood, or composite decking. Styles range from traditional straight stairs to more decorative designs with curved steps, railings, or integrated planters, suited to different architectural aesthetics.

After the job started, we decided to add our side steps along the side of our house. Their team was professional and courteous to work with. After each day of work, John and Miles touched base with us to see if we were happy with the progress. After the job was complete, we decided to have All Paving & Masonary LI to change oue existing retaining wall garden on the other side of our house to match the new pavers and retaing wall that was just completed.
