Frequently Asked Questions

Clean the crack and surrounding area, removing loose debris. Apply a masonry sealant or patching compound with a trowel, ensuring it's pressed into the crack. Smooth the surface and let it cure according to the manufacturer's instructions. Inspect periodically to ensure stability.

For chimney repointing, use a lime-based mortar mix, typically 1 part lime to 3 parts sand. Avoid high Portland cement content as it can trap moisture, leading to brick damage. The softer lime mix accommodates movement and breathes, preserving the chimney’s integrity.

A high-quality, breathable, penetrating silane/siloxane sealant is best for a stone chimney. It protects against water intrusion while allowing moisture to escape, preventing damage and efflorescence. Brands like ChimneySaver or Rainguard are popular choices among professionals.

After the job started, we decided to add our side steps along the side of our house. Their team was professional and courteous to work with. After each day of work, John and Miles touched base with us to see if we were happy with the progress. After the job was complete, we decided to have All Paving & Masonary LI to change oue existing retaining wall garden on the other side of our house to match the new pavers and retaing wall that was just completed.
