Frequently Asked Questions

A porch is a covered shelter attached to the entrance of a building, often extending across the front or sides. A stoop is typically a small staircase with a landing leading to a doorway, often found in urban settings. Both serve as transitional spaces.

A stoop should typically be at least 3 feet deep to provide sufficient space for comfortable entry and exit, though deeper designs around 5 to 6 feet can accommodate seating and other features.

Standard stoop sizes vary, but typically feature a platform depth of 3 to 5 feet and a width of 4 to 6 feet. Height generally includes 2 to 3 steps. Local building codes may specify exact dimensions for safety and accessibility.

Stoops can be built using concrete, brick, wood, composite, and stone. They vary in design, including straight, L-shaped, and U-shaped configurations. Additionally, stoops can feature railings, integrated planters, or benches to enhance functionality and aesthetics.

After the job started, we decided to add our side steps along the side of our house. Their team was professional and courteous to work with. After each day of work, John and Miles touched base with us to see if we were happy with the progress. After the job was complete, we decided to have All Paving & Masonary LI to change oue existing retaining wall garden on the other side of our house to match the new pavers and retaing wall that was just completed.
