Frequently Asked Questions

A porch is a covered structure that extends from the front of a house, offering space for seating. A stoop is a small staircase leading to the entrance, typically with a platform, and lacks the expansive seating area of a porch.

A stoop should typically be 3 to 4 feet deep to accommodate comfortable entry and exit, allowing space for a person to stand or sit. However, local building codes and specific design preferences can influence this measurement.

Standard stoops typically range from 3 to 5 feet in depth and 5 to 7 feet in width. The height generally matches the first step or is around 18 inches from the ground, depending on local building codes. Always check specific regulations for compliance.

Stoops can be built in various styles, including brick, concrete, wooden, stone, metal, and composite. They can be designed with steps, railings, and platforms, varying in size and ornamentation to match architectural styles from traditional to modern.

After the job started, we decided to add our side steps along the side of our house. Their team was professional and courteous to work with. After each day of work, John and Miles touched base with us to see if we were happy with the progress. After the job was complete, we decided to have All Paving & Masonary LI to change oue existing retaining wall garden on the other side of our house to match the new pavers and retaing wall that was just completed.
