Frequently Asked Questions

A porch is a larger, covered outdoor extension of a house, often with space for seating. A stoop is smaller, typically consisting of steps and a small landing leading to the entrance, and is usually uncovered.

A stoop should typically be 3 to 4 feet deep to provide enough space for comfortable entry and exit. This allows for easy access while also accommodating the swing of an outward-opening door if necessary.

Standard stoop sizes vary, but typically, a stoop is about 3 to 5 feet deep and 4 to 6 feet wide. The height usually aligns with building code requirements, often 7-8 inches per step, for safe and comfortable use. Local regulations can affect these dimensions.

Stoops can be constructed using various materials and designs, including concrete, brick, wood, steel, or composite materials. They can feature straight or curved steps, enclosed or open sides, and may include railings. Styles range from traditional to modern, depending on architectural preferences and functional needs.

After the job started, we decided to add our side steps along the side of our house. Their team was professional and courteous to work with. After each day of work, John and Miles touched base with us to see if we were happy with the progress. After the job was complete, we decided to have All Paving & Masonary LI to change oue existing retaining wall garden on the other side of our house to match the new pavers and retaing wall that was just completed.
