Frequently Asked Questions

A porch is a covered structure attached to the front or side of a house, often larger for outdoor seating. A stoop is a small staircase leading to the entrance, typically with a landing, prevalent in urban areas with limited space.

A stoop should typically be at least 36 inches deep to accommodate comfortable entry and exit. This depth allows for ease of use and adherence to building codes, but local regulations and personal preferences may require adjustments.

Standard stoop sizes vary, but typically they measure 4-6 feet deep and 5-10 feet wide, with a height of one to three steps (6-8 inches per step). Compliance with local building codes is essential for exact dimensions.

Stoops can be built in various styles, including concrete, brick, stone, wood, and composite. Designs range from simple, functional platforms to more elaborate structures with steps, railings, or decorative features. Material choice and style often depend on architectural compatibility and budget.

After the job started, we decided to add our side steps along the side of our house. Their team was professional and courteous to work with. After each day of work, John and Miles touched base with us to see if we were happy with the progress. After the job was complete, we decided to have All Paving & Masonary LI to change oue existing retaining wall garden on the other side of our house to match the new pavers and retaing wall that was just completed.
